All CERT members attend a basic training class which is held at the
Bergen County Law and Public Safety Institute in Mahwah, New Jersey.
Instruction is received in the following areas:
Disaster Medical Operations
Light Search and Rescue
There are a total of 8 classes which are held during the evening. At
the completion of the program, basic CERT safety equipment will be
issued to each successful participant. CERT members receive additional
training each year in the Township such as CPR, traffic/accident safety,
mass casualty management, and sheltering operations.
CERT training is a great way to feel more empowered to protect yourself, your family and potentially your community.
Please note: CART students must complete the CERT program. If
you have already taken the CERT Program and wish to jump in when the
CART classes start to become CART certified, please let me know to
reserve your seat.
