CAMP HAVE SOME FUN is a half day summer camp program sponsored by the Township of River Vale. The camp is for children entering 1st grade in September through children entering 7th grade in September. The camp this summer will be at Holdrum School. River Vale and Hillsdale residents are eligible.

The hours of the camp are 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The camp is scheduled to begin on Monday June 28th and run for 5 weeks, ending on Friday July 30th. The camp employs counselors between the ages of 14 to 18 who lead the campers in organized activities.                                        

The camp meets at Holdrum School on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The campers follow an organized schedule at the school. All campers assemble in the new gym for attendance and important information of the day. Each group then heads off for fun at the game rooms, the art rooms, the gyms, the playground and the fields. A camp calendar will be available later in the spring with daily contests, theme days and other exciting planned events, such as a talent show.        
                   
The camp meets at Stonybrook Swim Club on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The campers enjoy the morning at the pool swimming and playing games. Each camper must pass a swim test under the supervision of the Stonybrook Swimclub staff in order to swim in the main pool. The majority of our young campers stay in the 3 foot deep intermediate pool.  The 1st and 2nd grade counselors stay with the campers at the swim club. The counselors for 3rd through 7th grade are placed around the pools, field area, playground and snack bar for extra supervision.

The camp goes off site for special activities. There are proposed trips planned  to the Montvale Lanes, Space Odyssey in Englewood, the Pascack Movie Theater and much more. These activities are on a Monday, Wednesday or Friday in place of being at the school. Parents must provide transportation for campers, there are no buses. Each camper must wear their CAMP HAVE SOME FUN T-shirt to the special activities.

All campers will receive information about their group number, counselors' names and details about the camp on the first day to take home with them. We group by grade level that they are entering in September and will assemble in the gym on the first day at 9:00am.

For camp days at the school, we prefer all campers to wear sneakers and bring a drink and a snack.

For camp days at Stonybrook, the campers need to bring a towel along with their swim wear. They can either bring a drink and a snack or money for the snack bar.
