All are welcome to join for our Township of River Vale Ramadan Crescent Lighting ceremony this Sunday 3/10 at 6:30pm. We look forward to welcoming the month long observance of our Muslim neighbors by sharing in some cultural community building. We’ll have a formal program with speakers leading up to the crescent lighting at dusk and then food, warm beverages, baklava, crafts and henna tattoos! (Make sure you turn your clocks ahead that morning so you don’t miss it!) See you there!

PSEG Gas/Waters and Bugsbee will be continuing to work on Cedar Lane and will be working in the Cedar Lane/Hillsdale Avenue intersection next week. This will cause a closure at Highland Avenue/Cedar Lane, Hillsdale Avenue/Cedar Lane and Piermont Avenue/Cedar Lane. River Vale Police Officers will be present to conduct traffic control and assist residents who reside in the affected area in accessing their homes/businesses. Please follow the posted detours. Residents on Brook Ave will be able to enter and exit with the assistance of Police. We appreciate your anticipated cooperation. Calling all River Vale Residents! The Township of River Vale is hosting our Annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 23. All participants should meet at the Mark Lane Turf Field (or Holdrum School gym if raining). Remember to bring cameras to have photos taken with the Easter Bunny and don't forget your Easter Basket to collect eggs! • Children 3 and under - 9:30 am • Children 4-6 - 9:45 am • Children 7 and over - 10:00am This is a free event and there will be treats and other goodies available!

Pre-K T-Ball Registration Opens Friday, March 1! River Vale children who are entering Kindergarten in Fall of 2024 are eligible to take part in our Spring 2024 T-Ball Program! The clinic will be held on Saturdays from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm: May 4, 11, 18 & June 1, 8 & 15 (no session Memorial Day weekend) at Holdrum School field. Cost to participate is $60 per child. When people ask if you like to play games – do you automatically think of ones that don’t involve video game controllers? Do you have a hard time organizing enough people to play the games you love? Are you looking for new things to do this Winter? The Township of River Vale is excited to offer an opportunity for adults to come together for a GAME PLAYING DAY in anticipation of creating social groups that play games at the community center. In order to appropriately design and build a regular GAME PLAYING CLUB at the community center, we first need to know who in the community is interested in coming, what games they like to play, and when they are available. We’re talking, Chess, Scrabble, Mah Jong, Pinochle, Bridge, Canasta, Magic: The Gathering, etc. The GAME PLAYING DAY on Sunday, Feb 25th from 5-7pm is your chance to show your interest and weigh-in on this new offering. Come out to play games, meet some people and talk to a town representative to let us know what you’d like to see. We’ll have tables set up with games, opportunities to socialize, experts offering sign-ups for lessons in Chess and Mah Jong, as well as pizza and snacks.
