The River Vale L.E.A.D. program is a cooperative effort between the police department, the schools and the parents of our students.  The core curriculum is taught in the 5th grade.

The 5th grade core curriculum consists of weekly visits for approximately 45 minutes each.  This curriculum  is targeted to the 5th grade level because studies have shown that this is the age where social groups and identities begin to form and drug experimentation can occur. 

In addition to classroom instruction, the L.E.A.D. Unit sponsors other positive activities which reinforce the L.E.A.D. message.

The River Vale L.E.A.D. Program has been a great success, fostering friendships and memories that have lasted throughout the years.
