Join Northwest Bergen Regional Health Commission for a Flu and COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic and safeguard your health this fall and winter. Vaccinations are a simple and effective way to protect yourself and your loved ones, and we’re here to make the process easy for you! 🗓 Date: Thursday, October 3, 2024 📍 Location: River Vale Municipal Building ⏰ Time: 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM Flu Vaccine: Pre-registration is required to receive a flu vaccine at this clinic. We accept Medicare Part B only (please bring your Medicare Part B card). Unfortunately, we cannot accept Medicare Advantage plans (HMO, PPO, etc.). Please call 201-291-6090 to register. For those with other insurance, the cost is $20 for the regular vaccine and $63 for the high-dose vaccine. Only cash will be accepted. COVID-19 Vaccine: This clinic is offered in conjunction with the Bergen County Health Department. Pre-registration is NOT required to receive a COVID-19 vaccine. We will be offering both Pfizer BioNTech and Moderna vaccines for ages 5 and over at no cost to you. No insurance is required. Let’s stay healthy together this season!

The River Vale Police Department's 3rd Annual "Touch A Truck" event will be held Saturday, October 26, 2024 at Holdrum Middle School (393 Rivervale Road) from 11:30AM to 1:30PM. Make sure to wear your costume and bring a trick or treat bag! Hope to see everyone there!

October is here! Join us for the annual Township of River Vale Halloween Trunk or Treat Costume Parade, Saturday, October 26th from 9am to 11am! Line up begins in front of River Vale 7Eleven (at the corner of Rivervale Rd. and Westwood Ave.) at 9am sharp. Parade ends at Roberge Elementary School. A Flu Shot Clinic will be held at River Vale Town Hall on Thursday, October 3, 2024 from 1pm to 2pm. This event is open to non-residents. Pre-registration is required by calling 201-291-6090. Come get your flu shot and then shop at the Farmers Market!

Free Paper Shredding is available to residents of River Vale and Montvale on Saturday, October 26 from 9am to 1pm at 1 Memorial Drive, Montvale!

As if River Vale Day isn’t already your most favorite day of the year… the River Vale Girl Scouts just added another “treat” for you – A Halloween Costume Drive! If you have a few minutes before this Sunday, enjoy going through your closets, attic and basement to visit “the-costumes-of-the-past” and look for items you no longer need. We’ll be accepting clean/complete costumes – which will be donated to charities eager to provide costumes to their families in need. The collection booth will be right by the stage and the RV PTA – collecting from 12-4pm.

Joint Planning Board - 860 Westwood Avenue Application Hearing Carried to November. Please be advised that the subdivision application, intended for placement of a cell tower at 860 Westwood Avenue, Block 1901, Lot 10, will not be heard at the Joint Planning Board Meeting on September 18, 2024 as originally scheduled. The matter is being carried to the regular Joint Planning Board meeting scheduled for NOVEMBER 13, 2024, 7:30pm in River Vale Town Council Chambers, 406 Rivervale Road. River Vale Day 4th Annual Chili 🌶️Cook Off will be held Sunday, September 29! Do you love cooking and have been told you make a mean chili??? Never cooked chili before but want to be adventurous? Either way, this contest is for you. Make your favorite chili using your favorite meat, chicken, turkey or vegetarian recipe! Don’t be shy.. we can’t wait to try!! What does this entail: • Any River Vale resident is able to enter- Adults and Kids (We would love to see some junior chefs!) • Must enter by 12pm on 9/28 by emailing culturalaffairs1@rivervalenj.org with o First and Last Name o Address o Phone # o Type of chili • Bring hot chili in a covered pot (to keep it warm) with ingredient listing by 12:30pm to the Managers Table on River Vale Day, at the Mark Lane Sports Complex. You will receive an email with an entry # which you will also put on your pot so you are anonymous for the judges. • Winners will be announced by 1:30pm- 1st, 2nd and 3rd place ribbons will be awarded. • While we would love to sample, it is not allowed due to regulations with the health department. You are allowed to give out to people and we encourage you to let family and friends know and bring little containers to in order to distribute. • Pots/Containers need to be picked up from the Manager’s Table by 2pm We hope you will enter and share your recipe with us!!
